Gurugram, Dec 20 (IANS): Police seized over Rs 15.33 lakh from two cars here on the Delhi-Jaipur highway 8, a police officer said on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip, Crime Branch Bilaspur chief Babu Lal and his team recovered Rs 15.33 lakh from two cars during checking near the old toll plaza at Bilaspur.
The cars were heading towards Delhi from Haryana's Mahendergarh district.
A total of Rs 6 lakh, all in Rs 2,000 currency, was recovered from one car and Rs 933,600 (Rs 25,000 in Rs 50 notes and the rest in Rs 100 notes) from the second car, a police officer said.
Official statistics show that police have seized nearly Rs 1.75 crore, mostly in new Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 notes, in over a fortnight in Gurugram.
