Coast Guard seizes five Pakistani boats


New Delhi, Dec 21 (IANS): The Coast Guard has seized five Pakistani boats with 26 persons off the Gujarat coast, an official said on Tuesday.

Prima facie three crew appeared to be fishermen, but investigation is still on.

The seizures took place on Monday. The Pakistani fishermen were taken to Jakhau in Gujarat for further investigation.

Informed sources said the persons on board the boats prima facie appeared to be fishermen but they were carrying inflatable rubber dinghies which raised suspicion.

"Joint investigation prima facie intimate they are genuine fishermen. However investigation is still in progress," a source said.
