Jana Samparka Sabhe held at first Kola ward of Udupi CMC

Udupi, Dec 25: The district in-charge minister and minister for fisheries, sports and youth affairs, Pramod Madhwaraj held a ward level Jana Samparka Sabhe at the first Kola ward of the Udupi City Municipal Council on Saturday December 24.

Talking on the occasion the minister said, “This is the first ward level Jana Samparka Sabhe, as per the promise made by me before contesting the elections, and this is the start of all ward level Jana Samparka Sabhe where 65 and more will be held in all the wards which come under the city's constituency in the coming days.”

“If people come to these kind of meetings in large numbers, it will indicate that people are still not satisfied with the facilities and they want more developments. But here the people are participating to show they are well satisfied,” he added.

Talking about the contribution of the minister to the district he said, "Nearly Rs 1800 crore is sanctioned by the state government for various developmental projects in the district. There is also a proposal of making a 4 way road from Malpe to Parkala. The sand issue will get cleared as soon as possible. Nearly Rs 320 core is sanctioned for the drainage system here," he concluded.

32 beneficiaries have provided different facilities under different schemes like old age pension, widow pension, physically handicapped pension, Mansawini scheme and others schemes.

Commissioner of Udupi City Municipal Council D Manjunathayya welcomed the guests. President of Udupi City Municipal Council Meenakshi Madhava Bannanje, Corporator of Kola Ward Prashanth Amin, Urban Development officer Narasimha Murty, Gopalpura ward corporator Chandrakanth Nayak, and other corporators were present in the occasion.
