Bengaluru, Dec 27: The managing committee of Ramachandrapur Math, Hosanagara, filed a complaint in Vidhan Soudha police station here on Monday December 26, accusing MLC, V S Ugrappa, and others of causing threat to the life of the head of the Math, Sri Raghaveshwara Bharathiteertha Swamiji, by issuing statements that are provocative in nature.
In the said complaint, chief executive officer of the Math, K G Bhat, has urged the police to take stringent steps against Ugrappa, Shantaram Hegde Katta, Ravikumar, Gundu Rao, Harish Anudi and Satyashodhana Mitr Mandali.
Sri Raghaveshwara and Ugrappa
"Recently, by issuing provocative statements against the Swamiji, Ugrappa has tried to disrupt peace in the society. At the same time, his act has the potential of breaking the trust and dedication of the people towards the Math. Unnecessary issues are being discussed in the media and social websites as a consequence," Bhat stated in the said complaint.
"Provoked by Ugrappa's statement, Ravi kumar, Gundu Rao and others have posted threatening messages like that the Swamiji should be gunned down etc. By using obscene language, they have derided the Swamiji and hurt religious sentiments. Ugrappa and members of Satyashodhana Mitr Mandali will be directly responsible if the Swamiji or his disciples in the Math face any problems. Therefore, action should be taken against the concerned," the executive officer of the Math has urged the police.
At the same time, media secretary of the Swamiji, Ramachandra Ajjakana, said that there is suspicion that this happens to be another conspiracy hatched by opponents of the Math in connivance with the state government against the Math.
