Kundapur, Dec 29: Head constable attached to Kollur polce station in the taluk, Ashok Kharvi (43), died of heart attack on Wednesday December 28. He was a native of Karantharabail in Gangolli, and had been residing in police quarters in the town with wife, Sumitra, and two children, Aditya and Apeksha, since the last four months.
Ashok had finished dinner on Tuesday and gone to bed when he suddenly suffered heart attack. He then visited the town by sitting on the pillion of a policeman living in the neighbourhood for treatment. He was admitted into the hospital, and treatment had been begun. However, he breathed his last on Wednesday morning.
Kharvi had served in Kota police station and district crime intelligence bureau before being posted to Kollur station 18 months back. He had put in 20 years of service in police department, and had been popular for his sincerity and honesty.
The mortal remains of Ashok Kharvi were brought to the police station here where his colleagues paid their last respects. Deputy superintendent of police here, Praveen Nayak, Byndoor circle police inspector, Raghav Padil, Puttur circle inspector, Mahesh Prasad, station house officer here, Nasir Hussain, Gangolli station house officer, Subbanna, Kollur station house officer, Shekhar, and other policemen paid respects to his mortal remains.
