Madikeri, Dec 30: Junior Civil judge Sham Prakash of JMFC court adjourned to January 27, the hearing of private complaint against former MP and film actor Ramya who allegedly had given a statement praising Pakistan.
Katnamane Vittala Gowda, an advocate in the town had lodged a complaint against Ramya on August 22. The hearing of the complaint was held on Thursday, December 29. Complainant advocate Vittala said that he has answered to some of the questions by the judge.
“The judge asked if it is treason to have praised Pakistan. I told that the praising has hurt the sentiments of Indians as Pakistan is a traditional enemy of the country. There were protests against Ramya. Therefore I lodged a complaint against her. The judge said that India has not declared Pakistan as the traditional enemy,” he said.
“Pakistan has sponsored terrorism and is sending terrorists illegally in the country. Indian soldiers are getting killed by such terrorists. I have told the court that speaking for that country is treason”, he added.
“Terrorism is not confined only to Pakistan. It is a menace that is troubling most of the countries in the world, said the judge and adjourned the case.” said Vittala Gowda.
