Mangaluru: B K Tigers win KPL tourney, organise motorcade

Mangaluru, Dec 30: A six day Kudla Premier League (KPL) tournament was held from December 20 to 25 on the floodlit Urwa grounds, organised by Tilak Guru of Young Friends Urwa.

The six teams who participated in the tournament were:
1 B K Tigers led by Abishek Amin and Uday Poojary
2 Jugari Warriors led by Praveen Kodialbail and Pammi Kodialbail
3 Mundana Cricketers led by Sandeep Shetty and Vishal Pandeshwara
4 Urwa Bulls led by Tilak Guru
5 SDC Warriors Jeppu
6 Mask Tuskers Ullal

The first round comprised of league matches. The last four teams who qualified for the semis were SDC Warriors Jeppu, Jugari Warriors, Urwa Bulls and B K Tigers.

Urwa Bulls defeated SDC Warriors Jeppu and qualified for the finals while B K Tigers defeated Jugari Warriors and entered the finals.

B K Tigers defeated Urwa Bulls by 4 runs to win the KPL trophy 2016

The winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 3,00,003 and a trophy.

Second place winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 2,00,002.

Pratap from B K Tigers won the Man of the match award of cash prize of Rs 25,000.

Ashwin Tamanman from Urwa Bulls was declared Man of the Series and was awarded a brand new Tata Nano car.

B K Tigers led a motorcade from Urwa grounds to PVS Circle and ended at Lalbagh on December 29.
