Mangaluru, Dec 31: IGP (western range) Arun Chakravarthy has been transferred and P Harishekararan, IPS, has been appointed in his place.
The order is among the several transfers announced by the state government on Saturday December 31.
Chakravarthy had taken charge as IGP (western range) on May 30 this year. He has been transferred as the IGP (internal security division), Bengaluru.
Harishekaran is being transferred from the post of IGP and ACP (East), Bengaluru city. An IPS officer of 1996 batch of Karnataka cadre, Harishekaran was awarded the President's Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 2013.
ASP of Puttur Rishyanth has also been transferred as SP of Bagalkot, it is learnt.
