Kundapur, Jan 2: "Many revolutions have taken place because of 'Kalnadige Jathas' (march rallies). Mahatma Gandhi walked for freedom of the nation. Swami Vivekananda used walk to spread the message of Sanathan Dharma," said MLC Kota Srinivasa Poojary on Sunday, January 1.
He was speaking during the inauguration ceremony of 'Ammanedege Namma Nadige', a Jatha from Jadkal to Kollur organized by the local BJP unit. On the same occasion, Navagraha Chandika Homa was performed for the welfare of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and state BJP president and former CM B S Yeddyurappa.
"Jadkal, a valley below Kodachadri, is a place of change and life to many creatures. Jatha during New Year in this serene place makes it more special. Nation is on the path of new change. The whole world waits for Modi to speak. Media survey says that BJP will be in power again. Modi needs the intercession of God for the implementation of the ideas he has for people," Poojary added.
District BJP chief Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde, after inaugurating the Jatha, said, "Minor hindrances faced by the public, due to demonetisation, will disappear soon. Modi who is determined to change India wants moral support from people. This is the need of the hour. We are confident that BJP will come to power in the state in the next elections under the leadership of Yeddyurappa."
State BJP executive member B M Sukumar Shetty, who was leading the Jatha, said, "By performing Navagraha Chandika Homa at Kollur, we are praying for the special welfare of Modi and Yeddyurappa. Prayers of people and support of party workers have proved the astrologers wrong. We are hopeful that all the problems that these two leaders face in future would resolve quickly. We believe in mass prayers, hence we performed the Homa together with the march."
Halady Tharanath Shetty, Babu Shetty Thaggarse, Shankara Poojary, Suresh Batawadi, Sadananda Uppinakudru, Priyadarshini Beskur and others were present.
