Udupi: Young girl kidnapped from hospital, sexually harassed in Thottam

Udupi, Jan 3: Two strangers in a car kidnapped a girl who had come for medical treatment to the government hospital here and sexually harassed her in Malpe Thottam on Sunday afternoon January 1.

The eighteen year old girl hailing from Uttara Kannada district had come for treatment to Udupi Government Women and Children's Hospital and returned after taking medicine. She felt giddy and fell down as she came out from the hospital. Meanwhile as per preliminary reports, two strangers who arrived in a car kidnapped her, took her to Malpe, Thottam and sexually harassed her before fleeing away.

The girl is said to be mildly mentally weak. Her parents have admitted her into the government hospital for treatment. The suspects are said to be residents of Uttara Kannada. A police case has been registered at Udupi women's police station.
