Margao, Jan 31: Around four thousand odd land line customers of Bhartiya Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) at Housing Board in Margao are kept on tenterhooks after they phones went dead five days ago.

According Navnita Naik, resident of housing board, their phone line is not working for the last five days.  This has affected the usual communication and there seems to be no immediate solution.

BSNL over the years have introduced the underground cable facility.  However, whenever these create problems, the former is always caught napping. Accordingly, the customers who are tired with BSNL are of the opinion that it is better to shift to other landline phone companies which give service with Network Tower, and do not create as many problems as BSNL,  said Miresh Talak, STD booth operator from same vicinity.

In this regard when contacted, the BSNL staff said that the underground wires are burnt owing to certain reasons and now it is very difficult to fix the problem owing to the complex nature of the underground connections.

Meanwhile people in this vicinity are not able to operate the internet service also. Hence people are irked by BSNL staff for not giving them better and speedy service. The aggrieved customers have served ultimatum that they will not pay rent, till the lines get perfectly alright.
