This stupid bribe receiving and giving has gone right in blood of Indians I feel.

It will not disappear so soon. Beginning from a peon to higher officers. The higher the position, the more the amount. Many many poor suffer from this. Police too are involved. Now just investigate the assets of this lady and can find out whether everything was from her hard earned money. Serious action should be taken in such cases, govt. allowances should be cut.

National Highways Special Land Acquisition Officer, Gayathri Nayak comes under Central Govt and not State employee.

Modi's suggestion to implement debit card or card swipe facility may be considered or under testing phase now so that no cash transactions.

People in power, irrespective of part, demanding money to get things done/ documents approved and may be using new ways to collect amounts from people for their personnel benefits.

If everyone breaking the law doesn't mean I should do it too. Corruption must be handled with the severity of Anti-dowry Act. Accused should be treated as guilty until proven innocent in which case the accused (Govt.Servant) can be dismissed and sent to jail. The lawmakers has no will to do that.

The informant has to be congratulated for exposing the corruption at lower levels. If more people came forward, we can reduce the level of corruption.

The dept has a hierarchy wherein each rung gets a cut. They say that majority cut goes to the Minister. In case of low "collection", the officer is transferred to a rural posting as a punishment.

Demanding and accepting bribe is a crime and not reporting the crime is criminal. Yogish did the right thing and every citizen should report to the authorities without any fear when bribe is demanded.
