BJP cites media report to say Dawood's properties seized in UAE

New Delhi, Jan 5 (PTI) : Citing a media report, BJP today claimed that properties worth Rs 15000 crore owned by Dawood Ibrahim, one of India's most wanted criminals, have been seized in the UAE on the basis of a dossier provided by the Indian government.

"Major diplomatic success of PM Modi: One of India's most wanted criminals, Dawood Ibrahim's properties worth Rs. 15,000 crore seized in UAE," the official Twitter account of the party claimed.

"Master stroke diplomacy by PM Narendra Modi hits at the right place. Prime Minister had handed handed over the list of his (Dawood's) assets to the UAE government during his 2015 visit and demanded action," a graphic put out by it said.

The saffron party quoted a media report to make the claim.

Efforts are on to bring Dawood to face law in India, it added.

This is not a real news. Even UAE govt has denied it. Because of UP election coming up this fake news has been hyped. So ignore it.

Let the Union Govt, first auction already seized assets first.
As far as I know, so far no buyers or takers.

For the list of assets belong to D Co., probably the Central Govt may get it from its own party MLA from Maharashtra.

(Though I may be wrong. correction welcome.)

    A very good development/achievement.

While i have no intention to take away any credit which is due to the Hindustan's bureaucracy & the govt of the day,  it is important to give due credit to the UAE govt & its eminent ARAB leaders when it comes to governance & law enforcement.

By the way, without prejudice, the million dollar question is -

Does such diplomacy work in the UK against alleged fugitive L Modi & Mallya who were hiding and/or travelling with UK passport (given after NOC by External Ministry under PM Namo, though claimed that given on humanitarian ground, but the fact is not to say the least that later seen partying hard with socialites like Hilton/Campbell a known druggies) and about our own Mallya Maam (king of good times).

When he kicks the bucket naturally some day, they'll claim the credit for that too, forgetting that the promise in 2014 was to bring him to book. Looking at his 'diversified business portfolio' in many countries including UK as reported in media, shifting his hideout to one of those places may not be very difficult for a fox like him.

Naturally, they will claim, since they said he would be brought to India live or dead. I don't think he will kick the bucket soon.
