Gadag, Jan 6: Indian Medical Association (IMA) is planning to lodge a police complaint against BJP MP from Karwar Ananthkumar Hegde who was caught on camera thrashing doctors of a private hospital.
IMA state president Dr Rajashekar Ballary speaking to media here on Thursday January 5, said “IMA is planning to complain to the police. There are many attacks on doctors. 25 to 30 cases are reported in a year. But cases are not registered at police stations. Due to pressure from politicians, most incidents end up in compromise. It is wrong on the part of police to initiate compromise,”
“The state government has made the attack on doctors and hospitals, a punishable crime in 2009. The offense attracts Rs 50,000 fine and a jail term of 3 years.” he added.
