Sabarimala shrine board still says no to women's entry

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 7 (DHNS): The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) on Friday reiterated that it would oppose plans of activist and Bhumata Brigade leader Trupti Desai to enter the Lord Ayyappa Temple in Sabarimala.

Speaking with reporters here, TDB president Prayar Gopalakrishnan said no one would be allowed to break traditions at the temple, which bars entry of women aged
between 10 and 50 years.

“They could be celebrities, they could be newsmakers, but they won’t be allowed to violate the rituals and traditions of the temple,” Gopalakrishnan said.
