Elephant kills Indian tourist in Nepal


Kathmandu, Jan 10 (IANS): An Indian tourist was killed after a wild elephant attacked her inside the Chitwan National Park in Chitwan on Tuesday, police said.

The national park is one of the popular destinations for wildlife safari in Nepal, located some 200 km south of the capital city of Kathmandu.

Sneha Kanpara, 22, from Gujarat in India, breathed her last while undergoing treatment at the Chitwan Medical College, local police said.

Kanpara was attacked by the elephant at around 10 a.m. while visiting the Sauraha-based elephant breeding centre.

The elephant attacked Kanpara while she was going around the centre.

She was accompanied by her family during her visit to the breeding centre.
