Puttur, Jan 11: In an accident which took place at Kolyottu near Shiradi in the taluk on national highway 75 on Tuesday January 10, a pillion rider died and a rider suffered serious injuries after a tipper truck hit their two-wheeler.
Pavan (22), son of Gangadhar Shetty from Bittihalli in Hassan district, lost his life in the mishap. Pradeep (22), son of Bagesh from Arasikere suffered grievous injuries.
Pavan and Pradeep, students of government polytechnic at Hassan, had come to Dharmasthala in a motor bike on Tuesday. When returning to Hassan, a tipper hit their motor bike. Pavan, who suffered critical injuries, was being taken to hospital when he breathed his last. Pradeep stands admitted to the government hospital here for treatment.
A case has been registered at Uppinangady police station regarding the accident.
