Bengaluru, Jan 12: It has been decided not to allow SSLC students coming late to the examination centres in the state this time. SSLC examinations are set to begin on March 30, 2017.

Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board has taken this decision in order to hold the examinations in a transparent manner besides making sure that question papers are not leaked. Therefore, students, who are expected to be present at the centres by 9.15 am when the first bell will ring, will have to be compulsorily in their seats by 9.30 am when question papers would be distributed. Thereafter, no one will be allowed inside.

In the past, students coming late by up to 30 minutes after the distribution of question papers were allowed to appear for the examinations. The board is learnt to have already issued circulars in this respect to district deputy directors of public instruction and block education officers, informing them of this decision. The board has also made it mandatory to fit CCTV cameras inside the examination rooms.

Director of the Board, Yashoda Bopanna, said that the school managements have been asked to make sure that the CCTVs cover 360 degrees angle and all the students are covered by the cameras. She said that the government will take action against schools which do not fit CCTV cameras as above.
