Moodbidri: Collision with tipper - scooter rider loses life

Moodbidri, Jan 12: A youth riding a two-wheeler, died on Wednesday January 11 morning, after getting involved in an accident with a tipper. The accident occurred near Paper Mill Chamundeshwari temple on the road leading to B C Road here.

Arun D'Souza (38), lost his life in this accident, while his brother, Melvyn D'Souza, who was riding pillion, survived with minor injuries. The deceased, who belongs to Siddakatte, was residing in a rented home at Beluvai near here.

Arun, who was unmarried, was heading towards Siddakatte to attend to plumbing work there on his scooter, when he applied brakes to save a dog that suddenly came across his path near the Paper Mill. When the two-wheeler went wayward as a result, his vehicle hit a tipper that was coming from the opposite direction.
