Mangalore: Power Lifting, Bench Press Competitions on Feb 9-10

Mangalore, Feb 8: Dakshina Kannada and Udupi inter-district power lifting championship and state-level bench press championship will be organised by D S Sports promoters at Urwa Store ground here on Saturday February 9 and Sunday February 10. 

Addressing press persons Sports promoters secretary Madhuchandra said around 200 participants from across the twin districts and from the state would take part in the competitions. The competition will be inaugurated by international power lifter Kamalaksha Amin and hotel entrepreneur Jayaprakash Rao will preside over the function. 

Deputy tahsildar Seetharam Konchady, district government officials, city corporation joint commissioner Ajith Kumar Hegde, former mayor Purandaradas Kuloor, cooperative society president Prakashchandra and corporator Ashwin Kumar will be the chief guests. 

Promoters conveners Devadas Kuloor and Sadananda Amin were present at the press meet.
