NEW DELHI, Jan 18 (TOI): Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas today denied reports he's joining the BJP.
He also called the reports ridiculous and akin to suggestions that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is joining the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).
"Yes, according to sources, PM joining TDP, now run this as a news. Just joking like you guys," Vishwas tweeted in response to a journalist, tagging AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal.
His party colleague Manish Sisodia, too, joined the Twitter conversation. He said he had a report that said PM Modi will join the Congress after the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, and that he'd already met with Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi to discuss this.
It was earlier reported that Vishwas is said to be in talks with the BJP to join the party ahead of the Uttar Pradesh polls.
BJP sources said talks are at an advanced stage, and Vishwas - who's keen on contesting from the Sahibabad seat - is likely to meet BJP Chief Amit Shah before a formal announcement is made, the report said.

UP Polls 2017: AAP Leader Kumar Vishwas May Join BJP
New Delhi, Jan 18 (Agencies) : Aam Aadmi Party leader and poet Kumar Vishwas may soon join BJP as he is interested in contesting for the Sahibabad constituency seat in Ghaziabad District for the UP elections.
A formal announcement regarding his joining will likely be made after Vishwas meets BJP President Amit Shah in Lucknow. As the election process for UP assembly polls has already begun, the official announcement of Vishwas joining BJP is expected to be declared in a day or two.

The same Sahibabad constituency seat is also being sought by Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s son and UP BJP general secretary Pankaj Singh, so it remains to be seen who will be the final BJP candidate.
As a part of AAP, Vishwas had contested election from the Amethi constituency against Smriti Irani and Rahul Gandhi. According to sources, Vishwas is being sidelined by AAP, and his name also was not a part of the star campaigners for AAP in Punjab, which may have spurred his decision to join BJP.
