Panaji, Feb 11: The civil marriage registration authorities in Goa today said that the marriage betweeen Sanjay Dutt and Dilnasheen Amir Ahmad Sheikh alias Manyata will have legal validity only after their final signature on the declaration of marriage.

Sanjay Dutt and Manyata had submitted declaration of their marriage to civil registrar's office on Thursday February 7 in South Goa's Salcette taluk.

"They have filed declaration of marriage but the marriage will be legal only after final signature on the declaration," Chandrakant Pissurlekar, civil registrar, Salcette, who accepted the declaration, stated.

The authorities stated that the declaration is not final and they will have to sign on the declaration after 15 days before 90 days are over or else the marriage will not stand.

The civil registration rules in Goa makes it mandatory that at lease one among the couple has to be a local resident. In this case, Manyata has submitted a declaration by a former government servant, who has certified that she was staying in his flat at Aquem, a suburban locality of Margao city.

Sources confirmed that Dilnasheen would legally change her name to Manyata after the final signature.
