Mangalore, Feb 12: The foundation stone laying ceremony of the indoor sports complex to be constructed near KMC men's hostel at Kaprigudda here will be held on Wednesday, February 13, informed Dr C V Raghuveer, dean of KMC at a press conference on Monday, February 11.
The proposed construction will be completed by December 2008 at an estimated cost of Rs 10 crore. The stadium will house a basketball court with a gallery, two squash courts, three table tennis courts including a spacious lobby with facilities for body massage, toilets and bath rooms, he added.
Though the intention of constructing a state-of-the-art stadium will benefit all KMC students, the institution will also allow students of other colleges to make use of the stadium for organizing tournaments and sports meets, he added.
Javagal Srinath, former national cricketer will be the chief guest, he briefed.
The stone laying ceremony will be followed by a programme which will be held at TMA Pai International Convention Centre, he added.
