Vijayapura, Jan 27: Two persons were killed as part of honour killing at Bike near Yaragal village in the district on Thursday January 26 by the girl's father. The father, Jatteppa Lachchappa, was angry at the fact that his daughter was in relationship with a person belonging to a different caste, it is said.

Siddappa Gundappa Talageri (20), and Eramma Jatteppa Naduvinamani (18), died after having been hit with an axe by Eramma's father, Jatteppa Lachchappa. It is said that Jatteppa saw his daughter in the company of her lover, Siddappa. His family was opposed to their alliance since a long time. Jatteppa was overtaken by anger when he saw his daughter in the company of a boy whom he abhorred. He swished his axe at the two lovers and after killing them, bolted the door of the house and reached the police station where he presented his axe and confessed to his crime.

A murder case stands registered at Sindagi police station and the accused stands arrested.
