India can never become 'Congress-mukt', says party

New Delhi, Jan 28 (IANS) : Reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comment that the Congress is "a sinking ship", the Congress on Friday hit back, saying the country can never become "Congress-mukt" (without Congress) as the party is based on the basics of thr Constitution.

"India can never be 'Congress mukt' because the party is based on the Constitution. The Congress ideology is based on the basics of the Constitution. A secular India is the base of the Constitution. How can you ignore it," Congress spokesperson Kapil Sibal asked while speaking to reporters.

Asked to comment on the "Congress-Mukt Bharat" slogan of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sibal said, "This is a step towards the divisive agenda, which means non-secular India, an intolerant India and an India where nobody else has any relevance. This can never happen."

Reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's comment that the Congress has no "principles", Congress hit out at the Prime Pinister and said: "Was the government naming BJP leaders as directors in top PSUs or Meghalaya Governor V. Shanmuganathan's behaviour matter of principle?"

Addressing an election rally in Punjab, Modi dismissed the Congress as a "sinking ship" and a "history", and called upon the people not to vote for the opposition party in the coming assembly elections.

"The Congress…is on its last breath," Modi said at a joint election rally with Punjab Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) patron Parkash Singh Badal in the state.

"The Congress has no principles or rules," Modi said, adding that it is struggling to even survive.

"The country has seen the politics of destruction for 70 years and the youths of this country are suffering due to that. If you want to do politics, do the politics of development," Modi said.

For every party ups and down is there. Now may be 44 seats in Lok Sabha but surely it will go to 440 soon. Citizens are fed up with present Govt.

Congress leaders, the Gandhi Family themselves will ensure that Congress Mukth Bharat is reality.

Look at this one statistic: In 1989 when UP Assembly was in progress, Congress ruled with 378 seats out of 453. Then on, decimation happened and in last polls, Congress fought all 403 seats and won 24.
Today, the party is playing 5th Fiddle with 105 seats, that too as junior partner to a Regional party.

after blaming to congress you come to power, now after Bharat Mukt congress, you blame to whom?
All rules & policy are same only change the name, nothing special extra or adding.
only remove Gandhi name in all. After four years can not change the law or not same for everyone
then you're talking about the rules.

Congress is now reduced to be a small part of some alliance, they dont have a their stand on their own.
No matter how loud the the Congis shout, the fact it the party is fighting for survival but hanging on to other parties.... to fight a mighty opponent and claim victorious. For sure its not a revival. Thanks for its 50 year old Yuva Neta and his videos.

Congress party should understand first why it lost election. In spite of all odds, its a fact that present poisition like development in agrl, industrial, technology field etc., there is contribution ycongress rule. Many bad happed at the same time. Mainly mega scams, wide spread corruption etc, Too much interference in admn is detrimental. Another major factor that contributed congress down fall is its policy of communal appeasement. No equality in general. Party lost also due to ill advisers who always thought that communal appeasement will safguard the party for ever. Let itcorrect these negetive factors. Nobody knows who is next in Delhi... Transformation is inevitable and essence of progress path.

Prabhu, you have mellow down and accepted that Modi is bane for India. Investors took 71,000 crores from India and invested elsewhere after Nov 8. India is not inclusive and pluralistic anymore. Congress cannot sell it's schemes they failed miserably in it and also conceal scams like BJP is doing. Vyapam had more than 51 deaths yet Chouhan is the CM of MP. Train accidents has increased and no moral responsibility by your namesake. Terrorists attacks has increased Manohar sleeps and anyone questions him will be deshdrohi. Modi's academic certificates are bogus and also of Irani.
Most of the ministers are motormouth, post demonitisation RBI is in a fix and it's autonomy has dented. No black money is recovered. Fuel prices are hiked more than 8 times a year.

Their only agenda is to ride on Hindutva, while India is against cow slaughter India is world's largest beef importer.

Do we need to learn from an organisation that called our national flag as an evil in its mouthpiece?

Post UP elections, Modi and Shah will have to sacrifice their positions or at least Shah will be in oblivion.

Hope you understand the situation we are into and there is an agenda to divide India by the ruling party. Hindutva or any hatred ideology has wrecked the nation and it's high time for Indians to STOP believing Feku and a dallal of corporate world.
