Bengaluru, Jan 30: Real estate entrepreneur, Narayan, who has been accused of involvement with leakage of second PU question paper last year, was taken into custody by policemen of criminal investigation department (CID) on Saturday January 28 from the court premises here.

Narayan had remained evasive in spite of repeated attempts made by the CID to arrest him. Later, they produced him before the judge and got his custody for six days.

Narayan, who has been named as tenth accused in the case, had earlier applied for anticipatory bail, but it was declined. He had thereafter approached the special court, seeking to withdraw provisions of Karnataka Control of Organized Crimes Act which were invoked against him. The court had reserved its orders on his plea for Saturday and asked him to be personally present in the court on that day.

CID police team, which learnt that Narayan had arrived at the court, took him into custody in a swift operation.

Narayan has been accused of buying question paper by paying Rs 13 lac to main accused, Shivakumaraiah and Kiran. With the help of the leaked question paper, he reportedly conducted a class for 50 students including his daughter at his home at Sadashivanagara here.
