Mumbai: 'Bostu' Konkani drama performed in Marol

Mumbai, Jan 31: Konkan Association which is involved in social and cultural events showed its inclination towards drama for the first time. The first performance of 'Bostu' suspense drama written by Leo Fernandes (Jerimeri), founder of the association was held at Pallotti church premises, Andheri east on Sunday evening, January 29.

Ghatkopar Pantnagar Baby Jesus Church parish priest Fr Nelson Saldanha lit the traditional lamp and set the show in motion. “May the drama while providing entertainment win the hearts of the audience and be conducive for peace and tranquillity in the society,” he said.

Aldel Education Trust, Model Bank executive president Albert W D'Souza was the chief guest. Senior Konkani dramatist, Konkani Sahitya Academy award winner comedy King Francis Fernandes, Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industries executive president Antony Sequeira, businessmen Walter D'Souza, Kalmadi, Arun Sequeira, Benedict B Rebello, Everest Pais, Paul Mascarenhas were present. Arts promoter John Sequeira and Arsula Sequeira, businessmen Albert W D'Souza and Rony G Goveas were felicitated on the occasion. Cyril Castelino introduced the felicitated.

Joyce D'Souza, Janice D'Souza and Marita D'Souza performed a welcome dance. Anjali Dalmadi group performed Visilmar dance. Levin L Fernandes welcomed everyone. Lilly L Fernandes, Leron L Fernandes and Rosy D'Souza presented flower bouquets to the guests and honoured them. Steven Lobo compered the programme and proposed the vote of thanks.
