Protesters block Srinagar-Jammu highway at Bannihal


Jammu, Feb 2 (IANS): Protesters blocked the Srinagar-Jammu highway on Thursday in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir after a woman died in the local hospital allegedly due to negligence of the medical staff.

Police said angry protesters blocked the Srinagar-Jammu national highway at Bannihal, 190-km from here.

"The highway has remained closed for several hours due to protests in Bannihal town.

"Local administration is trying to pacify the protesters. The highway is still closed", police said at around 2 pm.
