Kasargod, Feb 3: In a joint operation conducted at the railway station here by the excise squad and railway protection force, a person named Muhammed Sakil (22) was nabbed. Muhammed, a native of Mangaluru, was found to be in possession of intoxicating tablets that are banned in the state.

Nitravet and Nitrazepam tablets have been barred by Kerala government. Sakil was held immediately he arrived in the town on the night of Wednesday February 1 by Mangaluru-Thiruvananthapuram express train.

During the interrogation, the investigators found that he had brought these tablets with the objective of selling them to people in various places in the town, Kanhangad, and other places.

The police have been extra vigilant about such activities as they have come to know that a racket that is concentrating on targetting students of schools and colleges for selling intoxicating drugs. Excise inspector, A G G Paul and Bharatraj of railway protection force led the teams which arrested the accused.
