Kundapur, Feb 3: Highway awareness committee which had led protests on January 31 opposing collection of toll tax on NH 66 near Sasthan Gundmi, along with people’s representatives will meet DC on February 4 to discuss further action on the issue.

The protests were called off after the DC assured that discussions on the subjects will be held on Feb 1. As there was no information about it even after two days, the protesters met Kundapur MLA Haladi Srinivasa Shetty and submitted a memorandum.

The MLA obtained information from the protesters and held discussions with the DC. The DC has assured that the collection of the toll will be withheld till February 4 when discussions will be held with Highway awareness committee and people representatives in order to take further course of action.
