Mangaluru, Feb 6: Two women, one from the city, and the other from near Moodbidri, reportedly went missing from their homes recently. Their respective families have filed missing complaints with the police.

Rekha (26), a resident of Padil in the city, reportedly left her home on January 23 with the stated purpose of visiting the home guards office at Mary Hill here in connection with the reimbursement of hospitalization expenses. She never returned and the family failed to gather any details about her in spite of trying their best. Thereafter, the family filed a complaint in Kavoor police station.

Rekha had got treatment from a private hospital for some ailment recently and had been discharged after getting well. She had told her family members before leaving her home that she was visiting the office of the home guards, of which she too is an employee, to seek reimbursement of bills.

Kavoor police have registered the missing case and are making efforts to locate the missing person.

Shanthipriya D'Souza (28), sister of Arun D'Souza from Ranger Kody in Puchchamogaru village near Moodbidri has remained untraceable since January 26. She was residing with her brother Arun, and based on a complaint filed with him, the town police here have registered a case.

As per the complaint, Arun, on his return after visiting a shop on January 26, found that his sister was not at home. Shanthipriya had been married off to Sanoor Alwyn seven months ago. The police as well relatives of the woman have so far unable to get any clue why the lady went missing. Investigation is on.

The complainant said that Shanthipriya, whose complexion is dark, and whose height is 5'5" with normal build and long hair, was wearing Churidar on the day she went missing. She can converse in Konkani, Kannada and Tulu.
