Putin to attend Silk Road summit in Beijing


Beijing, Feb 10 (IANS): Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in a summit here in May on the new Silk Road, it was reported on Friday.

The project is an international investment plan backed by China under the name of One Belt, One Road to develop infrastructure and telecommunication, reports Efe.

The summit will bring together leaders from around 20 countries, according to Chinese authorities.

Putin is expected to go to China again in September to attend the BRICS - Brazil, Russia, India, Canada and South Africa - summit.
