Mangaluru: City athlete Joylin breaks triple jump state record

Mangaluru: Well-known athlete from Dakshina Kannada, Joylin Mural Lobo rewrote a record in her name in triple jump at the State Olympics Athletics Meet in Hubballi on February 9.





The lass from Karkala, with a leap of 13.13 mtrs broke the old record of 13.03 mtrs set in 2004. With the new record, she broke her own best of 13.05 mtrs which she set at the Inter-State Chanpionship at Lucknow in 2014.

Joylin has won many medals to her credit. She has participated in Asian Grand Prix Athlete Meet, Junior Asian Track and Field and many other events. Joylin also bagged a silver medal at the Federation Cupi in 2015 at Mangaluru.

Currently, an employee of Life Insurance Corporation of India, Joylin aims to seal a spot in the national team.

The 7th day of the athlectics meet at RN Shetty Stadium in Hubballi witnessed winners from Dakshina Kannada in other events too.
