Margao: Counterfeit Currency Found in ICICI Bank

Margao Feb 29: In all 20 counterfeit currency notes of Rs1000 and Rs 500 face value were found in ICICI bank at Margao branch.  A complain has been lodged by the manager in this regard in the local police station

ICICI bank manager Surekha Sequeira stated in her complaint that counterfeit currency notes were found in between January 14 to February 26.

It is learnt that this is second time that such case has taken place in this bank.  It was earlier reported once in Panaji branch too.  Counterfeit currency of Rs 500 face value was found in Vasco too. 

Police suspect that the racket of counterfeit currency supplier must be working to launder money. Meanwhile on Thursday, two shops selling plastic goods gutted resulting in a loss of Rs 3 lac.
