Mangaluru, Mar 10: The complaint of abduction filed in Barke police station about a girl student of a school at Mannagudda was, on Thursday March 9, proved to be false. The girl had said that four unidentified abductors who came in Maruti Omni van had taken her away from near Gurji Circle at Mannagudda on Monday March 6, sprayed something to make her unconscious, and had dropped her off near Kadri Park.
The girl student, who had given anxious moments to the administrators of the tutorial near Car Street which she has been attending, her school, as well as as the police after she said she was abducted, clarified on Thursday that she had cooked up the abduction story. On being produced in the presence of a judge here on Thursday March 9, the student said that her mother did not allow her to use cellphone, and continuously brought pressure on her to study. Angered by this attitude, she said, she created the abduction story. She confessed that she had never thought that a police complaint would be filed about the abduction. "When I saw police personnel, I was overtaken by a sense of fear. Therefore, I confirmed that I was abducted," she explained.
The girl, a ninth standard student, hails from Bengaluru. She had been sent by the tutorial staff to attend oral examination at her school, but soon learnt that she had not reached the school. They then had visited Bunder police station here to file missing complaint when the girl called them to inform that she had been abducted and dropped off by unknown people.
