Bengaluru: 3-year-old child kidnapped, sold – saved with help of WhatsApp

Bengaluru, Mar 12: A 3-year-old child, who was kidnapped and sold, was saved with the help of WhatsApp and the persons responsible for selling the child have been arrested.

Tanveer son of Zakir and Jalila from Vaniambadi in Tamil Nadu is the child rescued. Mohammed Afzal (25) and Nazim (22) are the persons arrested in connection with the kidnapping.

Tanveer went missing from March 5 from his house. The family searched for him in vain. After the police complaint, the parents sent the photo of Tanveer to friends and relatives through WhatsApp which was then circulated among many people.

Meanwhile Mohammed Afzal brought the child to Bengaluru and sold it to Isadulla Imran Pasha for Rs 35,000. Afzal said that he was destitute and hence could not look after the child.

Isadulla took the child with compassion but later he saw the photo of Tanveer in WhatsApp. He felt that there are some similarities between the child in the photo and the child he bought. He immediately rushed to K G Halli police station and informed police about it. Police in turn informed Vaniambadi police in Tamil Nadu and Inspector Rajashekar from Vaniambadi confirmed that the child was the same missing from there.

Rajashekar and his team came to Bengaluru with the parents of Tanveer. They produced the related documents of Tanveer. Later Vaniambadi police traced the culprits and arrested them.

Afzal admitted that he stole Tanveer and gave to his sister to look after him. When she refused, he came to Bengaluru and sold the child. Afzal and Nazim had stolen Tanveer after offering him chocolates.

    Do what harm to this child and his parents ,are they aware?without parents child will be psychologically disturbed with a unknown people.And parent we know.Second they sell the child only for 35,000Rs.sometime a dogpuppy will be costlier than this.punish them all.

    One child saved.
    Isadulla Imran Pasha you are good........in your weakness you valued the humanity much more than your lost Rs.35K but could have known the legal requirement for getting the unknown child incase of adoption.
    Hats off to all police teams for the quick good action.
