Daijiworld Media Network- Bengaluru (RJP)

Bengaluru, Mar 15: State High Court (HC) on Tuesday March 14 ruled that complaint can be registered at a competent court to hear the case against Chikkaballapur Member of Parliament (MP) Veerappa Moily for allegedly hiding the fact in affidavit that FIR was filed against him before the last Lok Sabha elections.

The bench, headed by Justice A S Bopanna, who took up the case filed by applicant V Shashidhar, said that a complaint can be registered by the applicant in a magistrate court.

As per the information in the case heard by the HC, during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Veerappa Moily had not revealed in the affidavit submitted to the election commission that a FIR was lodged against him by Delhi anti corruption bureau while he was the union minister.

Shashidhar had prayed to the court that Moily should be disqualified from his post for hiding this fact. He wanted a directive in this regard from the court to state election commission and Chikkaballapur deputy commissioner.

"Every legislator starts his career with the lie of the false election return he files. "— Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former prime minister.

If Moily is wrong ,then PM and Union minister who were furnished wrong education qualification should also face the same axe.

Currently, Section 125A of the Representation of People’s Act (RPA) provides for a punishment of up to six months of imprisonment or fine or both for furnishing wrong information or concealing any information in an election affidavit.

The Election commission has proposed that if there is any attempt to conceal relevant information... this should be criminalized and there should be a punishment of two years for concealing or giving false information in (poll) affidavit,”

Moily is a popular but not a brilliant lawyer. This is what i had learnt from the lawyers who had been practising with him. They were recollecting the blunders he had committed when he was practising as a lawyer in karkala.

To me he is a lucky politician as went to become the chief minster of karnataka and a central minister later despite several accusations against him. He was lucky to clean in a case tape case involving a politican of the other party.

I think supreme court has already gave an judgment on this and that's the reason all the rats in Delhi went into hole and they stopped asking for any more proofs on education certificates Of Modi and Irani..

You can still approach supreme court on the same

wake up boss... he is a killer. he is the key personality behind Yethinahole project which has turned up as a disaster project for the district. He is very dangerous , can go to any extreme for his chair. Just study on his family status , what's the key card he used to get the Gandhi family's blessing and also to keep the prince RG happy... . you will get to know many things about Moily. Even I feel, as some one highlighted as "Sikki Bidda" .... and end of his era now.. to get sailed off in Modi wave. Gandhi's are struggling to hold their chairs and I am not sure if they have time to see if at Moily's chair which is at stake.

If I am correct, a district commissioner, an University Professor, a MLA/MP and a minister are having almost a similar monthly salary and other benefits. I wonder in a period of 4 to 5 years ( one term), how a MLA/MP becomes a crorepathi whereas a highly learned Professor, even at retirement struggles to meet both the ends? This is the irony of someone being in politics. Mera Bharat Mahan and my India is shining. Jai Hind
    Has anybody got answer?
