Mangalore: Musical Extravaganza at Town Hall from Mar 10

Justice K S Hegde Charitable Foundation and Alva's Education Foundation, Moodbidri will be jointly organising 'Samskrithi Sinchana 2008', a cultural extravaganza of Indian classical music and dances at Town Hall here from Monday, March 10 to Sunday, March 16, announced Dr M Mohan Alva, chairman of Alva's Education Foundation at a press conference here on Friday March 7.
 
'Samskrithi Sinchana 2008' will be inaugurated by eminent film director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar at a function which will be chaired by N Vinaya Hegde, president of Nitte Education Trust. On the occasion M Maheshwar Rao, deputy commissioner of DK district will be the guest of honour, he added.
 
The 'Samskrithi Sinchana' award along with a citation and a momento will be conferred on veteran flutist Praveen Godkindi and well-known violinist Dr Mysore Manjunath during the inaugural ceremony, informed Dr Alva.  

The event will feature 'Bansuri' and violin - jugalbandi, 'Samanvaya', Hindustani vocal classical music, Odissi classical dance, violin jugalbandi, Mohiniyattam, Carnatic classical vocal, Tandava Nritya, tabla solo recital, Bharathanatyam, Kathak classical dance, Hindustani classical vocal music and Kuchipudi dance, he elabourated.
 
N R Ballal of Alva' Education Trust was also present at the press conference.
