Goa Police Eye British Witness in Teen Murder Case

Exclusive investigative story by ARES -Daijiworld Media Network, Goa

Panaji, Mar 12: Goa police are working on `the last seen theory' to solve the mystery behind death of british teenage girl who was found dead on goa's popular anjuna beach.

Police sources confirmed that all those who were seen with the girl few hours before her bruised semi nude body was found on the shore are being questioned. "It is for these suspects to clarify what happened. The onus lies on them," North Goa superintendent of police Bosco George said.

Police had zeroed in on a bar man, Samson D'Souza, 29, [Earlier name printed as Sumsung D'Souza]  who was seen in a compromising position with the deceased girl, Scarlett Eden Keeling, couple of hours before her body was found on February 18.

According to Indian eye witness, he saw Samson lying on Scarlett behind Lui Café shack on the Anjuna beach at 4.45 a m when he had gone to collect his scooter. The witness has said that he saw them in his scooter lights.

Sources confirmed that Samson, who is in police custody, has confessed of having oral sex with the deceased and not sexual intercourse. Apparently, Samson's contention is sufficed by the first and second post mortem report which mentions that `there were no fresh tear on her vagina.'

The state police today said that still the case against Samson stands as he was indulged in `unnatural acts' which is an offence under Indian penal Code (IPC).

Senior police officials stated that the Samson will have to explain to the police what happened after 4.45 a.m. although he has said that he left her at 5.15 a.m.

Sources confirmed that Samson has pleaded innocence to murder throughout his interrogations.

In yet another twist to the entire story which might bail out Samson from trouble, another suspect Placido Carvalho popularly known as `shana' in Anjuna beach belt has deposed before the court that one Murli working in nearby shack `Curlie' had moved out with Scarlett at 4.30 a.m.

Carvalho, who along with Scarlett's boyfriend Julio Lobo, are questioned by the police. Both have filed an anticipatory bail petition before the district and sessions court here fearing police arrest.

``Scarlett entered the shack (Lui Café) in an inebriated condition at 3.30 a.m. and was looking out for Julio (her boyfriends) number. Murli who had come at the same in the shack took her to the shack `Curlie' where he is working," the bail petition mentions.

Carvalho, who claims himself to be self employed and was having drink in the shack on the fateful night, said that he is innocence in the case and came to know about Scarlett's death next day afternoon.

Police who are working overtime to crack the case today conceded that they are on right track and will crack the case soon. "Investigation is at a very initial stage. We are on right track and investigation is progressing very well," George said.

The depositions received by police during the investigations have revealed that on February 18 eve, Scarlett was dropped to a spannish girl Ruby Bright's house.

The statement given by Julio Lobo (her boyfriend) stated that the spannish girl, who was highly inebriated, could not disclose where the Scarlett went after both of them partied at a local club.

Senior police officers stated that they will be able to get the missing links in the case, if they get the deposition of a british national who has left the state after the incident.

The unknown witness, reportedly, was staying with Samson (who is now behind bars) and left three days after the incident. "If he (witness) fears to come down to Goa, we are ready to fly anywhere in the world to get his statement which is vital in the investigation of this case," George stated.
