Puttur: Fight among students – 5 arrested, produced in court

Puttur, Mar 31: Puttur town police arrested 5 students relating to a fight among them and produced them in court on Thursday, March 30. All the accused were remanded to judicial custody.

Akshay, Nishanth, Abhishek, Karthik and Nitin are the arrested students.

As per the details available, the fight took place between two groups of students on Tuesday. One group consisted of locals while the other group consisted of students from outside Puttur. All belong to a private college here.

Two students named Vinuthraj (19) and Rajesh (19) got admitted to Puttur government hospital and alleged that a group of students attacked them with the intention of murder. Akshay, Nishanth, Abhishek, Karthik and Nitin were named in the complaint as culprits. Both these complainants stayed in paying guest (PG) accommodation, being outsiders in town.

At the same time Karthik (19) and Jitendra (19) also got admitted to the same hospital and complained that they were attacked by a group of students. Vinuthraj, Yathindra, Thousif, Rajesh, Shashikanth, Bhagath, Dhanush and Gurudarshan were blamed for the attack.

Police, who took up both the complaints, investigated further and made the arrests. They were booked under section 307 of IPC. After being produced in court, they were sent to judicial custody.

    This is very common here.almost every other day this happens.students get connected with locals however then they result in subject backlogs and these start abusing the freshers. a very common practice. good the news is in media and court. some strict action to be taken.locals should be kept away from students..they ruin students life.

    Instead of studying and to have a good career the parents send their students to College et.c. But why this Rowdism and Goondagiri in school? The school authorities should debarr such students as puishment.
