7 Days

Abu Dhabi, Mar 13: The nationalities of the three men killed in Tuesday’s horrendous 60-car pile-up on the Dubai-Abu Dhabi border have been revealed as Pakistani, Syrian and Sudanese. Meanwhile, the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi yesterday denied rumours that any of their nationals had died in the car smash.

“We sent our staff to speak to the victims and we found out that no Indian national had died,” a senior official said. More than 300 people were injured in the accident, which happened at Ghantoot early on Tuesday morning in thick fog. More than 25 cars were burned out in the crash.
