Udupi, Apr 7: Madhusudan Rao, son of the late Vishnumurthy Rao, residing in Kannarpady here, who is a partner of Hitech Medicare Hospital here has filed a police complaint, alleging that general power of attorney (GPA) was got made in his name when he was in the USA by faking his signature, with the purpose of cheating him by other partners of the hospital.

Rao says that when working in USA, he used to remit large funds for constructing this hospital. When he came back to the country in 2012, accused Pradeep Kumar, Vadiraja Kunder, Dr T S Rao, Dr Jahnavi Rao, Shashikala, Pushpa and Vani Rao had blocked him from entering the hospital.

Shocked by this behaviour, he said he went to Canara Bank's town branch where the hospital accounts are maintained. He says that he found from the bank that a GPA issued in his name in favour of Pradeep Kumar was handed over to the bank on July 15, 2006. He checked at Katapadi branch of Canara Bank and there too realized that special power attorney (SPA) given in favour of first accused was filed there. Both the GPA and SPA were got prepared through advocate and notary from the town, Mattaru Ratnakar Hegde.

In his complaint, Madhusudhan Rao said he was in USA when these documents were prepared, and in his absence, first and second accused, in connivance with the other accused, had faked the signature of Madhusudhan Rao and created documents with the specific aim of cheating him. He says that they had also projected fraudulently made document as real, which is a crime.

A case in this connection stands registered in the town police station here. Police are investigating.

I know both Dr. T.S.Rao & Dr. Jahnavi & their Late Parents for over three decades! They are honest & come from a highly respected Family.Getting involved in these kind of mischief is beyond anyone's imagination.! Accused should come out with a statement in order to clear their name for their Family sake. I truly hope TRUTH will come out sooner than later!

Who knows..., the petitioner himself would have consented to forge GPA..., The bank manager may know the fact...,
Name of Shri MR Hegde may bring some damage to his political aspirations.

How can any POA be made w/o the presence of the giver; and if I m not mistaken, a POA needs to be registered for it to become a legal document!

How did the accused manage all this; n if it was not registered, how could any bank accept it considering the large amounts?

I think many people along with the accused have connived in this fraud!!

"How can any POA be made w/o the presence of the giver; and if I m not mistaken, a POA needs to be registered for it to become a legal document". Let us not be naïve. Forgeries, impersonating others and getting POA's, selling properties, etc. has been done in countless cases. If you have money and power, you can pretty much do anything!

No doubt about it.... The hospital itself is a fraud entity... For few extra thousand bucks they unnecessarily operate unsuspecting patients, thus playing with their lives and future ... No ethics, no morals, no service.. The nurses ask for money if they are to provide better service. The cleaner doesnt clean the room unless you pay him extra... So disgraceful to be called an hospital.. Their license should be cancelled and hospital shut down...
Stay away from these crooks and save your money, save your life...
