Mangaluru, Apr 7: A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between St Joseph Engineering College – Vamanjoor, Mangaluru and Kanara Small Industries Association (KSIA) Mangaluru on Friday, March 31. The MOU was initiated by the Department of Business Administration at SJEC.
Signing the agreement, Fr Joseph Lobo, director – SJEC, expressed the need for MOUs that will benefit the students of Business Administration. He also opined that industry-institute interaction bridges the gap between the industry and academia.
Henry Britto, president of KSIA was present on this occasion and stated that the students need to understand the practicalities of the industry. He also mentioned that the majority of entrepreneurs in India began their business from scratch and became successful.
Dr Joseph Gonsalvis principal - SJEC congratulated the Department of Business Administration for the initiative taken and expressed that the MOU with KSIA would enhance the quality of management education in SJEC.
Fr Rohith D’Costa, assistant director - SJEC, Dr Rio D’Souza, vice principal - SJEC, B A Nazeer, office bearer - KSIA, Dr Prakash Pinto, dean of MBA at SJEC, along with faculty from the Department of Business Administration were present on occasion.
