Mangalore, Mar 16: Imagine a situation whereby Jesus Christ is having his last supper in a village of Dakshina Kannada. Definitely, there would be some banana leaves, toddy and the local farmers attired in traditional gear, sharing their last supper with Jesus Christ. Yes, these are the visualisations of artists about the last supper of Jesus Christ, which were converted into reality on canvas.

One can see such creative arts at the Orchid Art Gallery located near Kadri Toll Gate. According to ancient scriptures, in all a total of 12 apostles had participated in the last supper with Jesus. Similarly, 12 artists have created 24 different paintings, relating to the last supper, which has now been kept for exhibition and sale here.

Speaking on the occasion, he informed the gathering that the church has been contributing to arts and maintaining many art galleries throughout the world. Meanwhile, local artists too have contributed something valuable towards the artistic works on Jesus Christ, he opined.

I always knew that William Pias had a nascent talent for the exceptional. Absolutely brilliant. It hurt me when the Community did not adequately support his last book-let that change now.
