Udupi: Feud with minister’s driver- suspension of Malpe constable withdrawn

Udupi, Apr 15: Suspension of Prakash, a constable from Malpe police station, has been withdrawn, as per sources from police.

Prakash was suspended by the police department for slapping Kumar, a tractor driver working with district in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj. Prakash had alleged that his pregnant wife was eve teased by Kumar outside an ATM when he was withdrawing money. Prakash had called for Hoysala police squad and slapped Kumar for his behaviour.


Suspension of Prakash had attracted criticism. There were blames that the minister and his wife were involved in the suspension in order to defend Kumar. BJP too had protested and demanded the cancellation of suspension.

It is said that Prakash has been transferred to a police station in Karkala.

Fair picture of the incidents that took place after the alleged eve teasing is yet to be known to the general public. Investigations are in progress.

    In such cases Police should not be suspended. Now this seems to be a fun. Once suspended and now he is reinstated and posted to somewhere else. Why this drama?

    Baby inside the mother's womb is the only true witness in this case..., exactly what happened, conspired or transpired..,

    sudden twist to the case why? bcoz Mr.Shasidhar collected some evidence & filed a write petition in court against the police higher authority & politicians. so for minimize the damage, suspension was withdrawn. it is very clear in this case that the nexus between politican & police higher authority was disclosed by issuing a suspension order without completing the enquiry.

    this entire drama disclose the reason for increase in eve teasing cases.

    Women should use better sense on silly matters which they can handle themselves without involving their husband. There are always some funny elements in the society and women should learn how to deal with them. Look who is suffering now on the verge of family way, transfer to another place!

    eve teasing may be silly for some people but for most of the people it is a serious matter. No husband will tolerate such kind of act.

    one who can feel whether it is a silly or serious matter only when it happens with his family members.
