Dubai: Expo 2020 offers massive opportunities for GCC firms

Dubai, Apr 19 (Khaleej Times): Bahraini companies have learned of the unique opportunities to grow their business in the lead-up to, during and after Expo 2020 Dubai, the first World Expo to be staged in the Arab world and the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, MEASA, region.

A team from Expo 2020 Dubai visited the country as part of its wider 'GCC Roadshow', designed to encourage business engagement and growth across the region and highlight the lasting benefits of working with Expo 2020.

The Expo 2020 Dubai team met with key entities including Bahrain's Authority for Culture and Antiquities, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Bahrain Economic Development Board and Tamkeen, as well as engaging in dialogue with major industry figures and the wider business community.

Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and Commissioner General of the Bahrain Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, said: "These meetings are instrumental in raising awareness among the various sectors about the commercial, economic and cultural opportunities for this international celebration."

    Mr Eric, End of the day if they kick us, we have to go back to India. So don't praise and keep full trust on Emaratis.

    You say don't praise and keep full trust on Emiratis. If that is so why are you still in UAE, why don't you come back to India rather than get kicked out. I fee you are out of your senses, UAE a desert converted into a financial, commercial, industrial and tourism hub in a span of 20 to 25 years is a very great achievement. I am an Indian and I am proud to be a part of this achievement which UAE has achieved in a span of 25 years. Compare India with UAE, you will get beef and pork in Dubai but you will not be allowed to eat Beef in India. So whom you should praise and trust more - the Emiratis and the Arabs. Take the example of Bahrain which was told to ban pork - it is said it violates human rights, whereas in India they care a damn of human rights and people are killed for eating or storing beef. My earnest advice to you come back to India and face the human right violation.

    UAE and Dubai Emirate has made a name to itself in the international business and economical arena. I am 100% sure that Expo 2020 will be a great boost to UAE. Looking forward to it 3 years from now.
