M'luru: Lourdes marks Environment Day with drawing contest

Mangaluru, Jun 9: The World Environment Day was celebrated in Lourdes Central School on Monday, June 5. Sasha Lobo of class 9 spoke about the significance of the day during the morning school assembly.

Fr Robert D’Souza, principal while addressing the students insisted on efficient use of papers and books. He asked students to keep the surroundings of classrooms, school premises and public areas clean. He suggested some methods to preserve natural resources, such as by walking, cycling and car-pooling, among others. "Take care of nature around you, it will take care of you," he concluded.

Students of class 8 and 9 displayed some artwork, paintings and slogans pertaining to the World Environment Day, on the School Bulletin Boards. A drawing competition for the students of class VI to X was held in the school with the support of Vijaya Karnataka publication on the theme, ‘Connecting People to Nature’.
