Mangaluru, Jun 15: Locals in Ullal on Thursday June 15 saved a man from jumping into the river from the Netravati bridge near here.

The man, said to be mentally unstable, was about to commit suicide by jumping from the bridge when passersby intervened.

The identity of the man is not yet known.

The locals had to tie up the man to deter him from committing suicide.

An ambulance was then called to the spot. Eyewitness alleged that as the man was mentally unstable, the ambulance staff refused to take him. The locals grew angry at this and took the staff to task. The man was finally taken away in the ambulance.

Following the incident, traffic on the bridge was affected for sometime.

    Sorry to know this....
We have several cases in our company...
If one has decided to go he will go anyway...
There is nothing like change of attitude in this case...
He will work for the next available time to act...
    It is prudently said....
We can probably prevent someone coming....
But it is almost impossible to prevent someone going....
