M'lore: Man held for Possessing Wild Animals at Home

Mangalore, Apr 17: The sleuths of Special Forest Mobile squad arrested a person for rearing python, monkey and three eagles by violating the Wildlife Protection Act, at Ballalbagh here on Wednesday.









According to the police, the arrested is Ravi, a gymnast. It was believed that he was rearing these wild animals at his house, which is against law and non bailable crime.  In this background, Sub Inspector M S Prakash along with his team Raghava Nair, Seetharam, Paparam Shetty, Asok Shetty, Shankar Kottary and Harishchandra conducted a raid. The value of these animals in the international market is said to be around Rs 65,000. A case has been registered.
