Mangaluru: St Agnes College celebrates International Yoga Day

Mangaluru, Jun 23: International Yoga Day was celebrated in the auditorium of St Agnes College (autonomous) in the city on Wednesday June 21 under the joint aegis of sports association of the college, National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps.

Yogaratna Gopalakrishna Delampady inaugurated the programme. In his address, Delampady stressed the need to practice yoga regularly for getting a firm body and mind. "By practicing yoga everyday, students can improve their power of concentration, their memory power will improve, and yoga helps them to remain active throughout the day," he said.

Principal of the college, Sr Jeswina A C, presided over the programme. Assistants of Gopalakrishna Delampady, Nina Pai, Suresh Kumar, Dayanand, Supreeta Suman, Bharati, Bhavya and Pratima, who participated in the programme as resource persons, helped in conducting the programme.

NSS officer, Dr Udayakumar B, welcomed everyone. Physical education teacher, Vasudha S, proposed the vote of thanks.
